Ok, ok, so I also got a five and some sixes and I didn't win the class, in fact I was fourth

but I have never ever got a mark of '9' for a movement before.

Quite chuffed with the Yogi horse and his medium trot....

lol - thanks guys.

Seriously I actually thought a nine was utterly impossible. I am always chuffed enough with the eights!

So very pleased with the boyhorse today - despite the fact that he sat down in the lorry (but that's a whole other post...)

You sure it wasn't an upside down 6?

I thought 9 was only a theoretical score and judges would never award it, even if they could not tell you how a movement could be done any better.

I got a 9 once for my first centre line.. and when kt was 12 she got 8 9's in one blooming test at a pony club ODE, then went double clear, neeedless to say she won.
I awarded 9's for almost perfect Give and Retakes at Broadway the other week...

ETS.. sorry very rude of me not to say well done!!

I awarded a 9 today for a lovely square halt. It wasn't a 10 as there was a little loss of balance getting there, but the halt itself was spot on. I have awarded 10's as well - we are encouraged to use all the marks. I did a 2 today as well as the horse was very naughty and all I could do was mark the start of the movement, but then he just played up like mad. We are taught that 10 is excellent, not perfect - but then we don't (unlike Spinal Tap) have an 11 to give! But well done.
