Unfortunately not the dizzy % scores as last week which was a shame as I felt we produced just as good tests.
We went to Addington unaffliated today to contest their winter championship qualifiers.
Lots of horses, all shapes and sizes.
Snoop warmed up with his usual way, calm and happy to do whatever.
Wandered down to the furthest arena and had to hang around a bit for other competitor to complete.
Went in, did some fairly good movements, I fluffed a few lines/circles and he was tense *neighing* during the walk.
However, redeemed himself in his mediums *def his party piece*
So was quite disappointed to be marked with 61%
Second test we again worked nicely, straight entry, good mediums, completely had a blank moment in a canter moved thank god for FinnMcCoul who was calling the test, who quickly got me back on track.
So a few marks dropped there, but finished well.
I felt the canter mediums were good, but was still a little tight in right canter. His walk was his worse *slightly tense and wont stretch down* but again I was shocked to see 60%

All test were marked harshly the best coming away with 66% we finished 7th in both tests being pipped at the post in the last by 0.4 or something stupid.

Anyway, Im pleased as punch with him, just disappointed with our marks.

Pics will be on ImaginPoint tomorrow

Shame about the harsh marking, but glad to hear that overall he went well. Sounds like a good day all round!

I'm just back and totally knackered.

*Passes BBs a virtual glass of wine*

Ta
Did you have a good weekend?? is horse home safe and sound too??

Yep fed up with the marking. Ive just watched vids back, his medium trots today were absolutely STONKING! totally off the floor and powerful from behind!!! so god knows what they were looking for today.

Granted it wasnt as relaxed as last week in places but sheesh!

Well wont lose sleep over it, looking forward to hitting Essex next weekend

That's dressage I'm afraid. Sometimes the judge is on your side, sometimes they aren't. Its dreadfully frustrating, but the good times make up for it. At least you know it was quality.

Yep, horse home safe and sound. Had two good lessons, but nearly got chucked off a 25 yr old schoolmaster yesterday! Eeek. Bandages came undone and horse went ballistic. And I had no stirrups at the time. Not good. Great lesson today though.

Shame about the mark don't get down hearted ,we did a riding club team comp .last week and the judge put us 4th and he went as well as he did yesterday!Good luck next week

Halfstep you just said exactly what I was going to say "thats dressage"!.

Dont get to hung up on it, you thought he gave you a good feel and were happy with young Snoop.

Sod this dressage lark come sj instead, at least then you know that a fence down is 4 faults etc

Im not going out to compete now until the Winters, im fed up thinking ive done a really good test and then getting a sh*t mark. It was really getting me down, so im looking forwards to a break from it all now

Hey you
smile.gif

Yep, was thinking that today, maybe I should stick to sjing, but seeing as im crap at that, and will need some training which I just cannot afford, I shall stick to dressage

Will email you about visit??

At least you were pleased with him, it's always a shame when we feel that our horses go much better than our scores reflect

Well done anyway

Are you going to be competing BE this year?

Not this year unfortunately. I just dont have any money for training for the 3 phases let alone entry fee money

Hes only rising 6 so we can always go back to it next year if I come into money lol

I think sometimes you have to ignore marks!!! Overall though if the winner was on 66% I think you should be very pleased, some judges are generous, some not so!!

Well done though.. keep up the good work

Chin up V, if you feel it was as good as last time then keep that in mind and, as they say, "keep on keeping on"! Make sure you post the link to the piccys when they're up, won't you?

Happened to me earlier in the year - got really class score one weekend, then down about 8% the next one. It was a bit demoralizing at the time.

Good luck for next weekend. Hope that goes a lot better.
