I went to the dressage today organised by Halfpass, I was very kindly picked up by Halfpass's OH
as my lorry broke yesterday
It was really well organised and well signposted to the warm up etc, the arena looked fantastic with lovely flowers everywhere. The warm up was in a nice big field, and Axey after an initial bit of silliness settled really well. I only had 15 mins to warm up and went in. Axel was terrified of the judges car and jumped some of the flowers, but settled nicely and did a reasonable test (prelim 4)
My 2nd test prelim 7 wasn't for another 1 1/2 hrs so we went back to the trailer for a bit, untacked and had a bit of a sunbathe.
Went down for P7 had lots of time to warm up this time and Axey totally surprised me by immediately settling down to some really nice work.
Went in for my test and he was fab! A bit spooky and wobbly but over all I was delighted with him, that has to be the nicest he's ever gone in a test.
Hung around waiting for the results, and I was delighted to be 2nd in P4 with 62% and 1st in P7 with 59.9%
although when I got home I realised that the % had been worked out wrong and I actually had 65.5%
Really pleased as that's the first dressage rosette Axey has ever won, and he was a really good boy
