On behalf of a friend - can anyone suggest a decent dressage trainer (specialist preferred) in the South Notts area please?

We've already thought of Julie Hyslop at Vale View, Carrie Adams at Collingham and Robyn Wetherall who is/was at Arena UK but not sure if she's still there? I know the last two are not really South Notts ;).

Someone who could travel to their yard would be ideal but they will travel if needed.

Thanks :D

I've since moved away from the area and so now have no idea of which venues he teaches at (or even if he's still teaching), but Andrew Day would get my vote.

Ah bless Cherry! She taught me when I did my AI at Newark Tech!! :D

Thanks Fidgety and Flashpaddler :)

Popsdosh - the number for Andrew Day would be great by PM, thanks. Do you know where he teaches - I'm thinking possibly Vale View?

Wouldn't recommend Andrew Day unless your friend knows their stuff....he is undoubtedly very knowledgeable and a good trainer, but really not beneficial for people who aren't very realistic ...know a lot of people who have had very good results with Andrew Fletcher though :)

Andrew Fletcher also does some teaching at his yard (I think! Either that or it was just a special occasion...) which is nearish Nottingham - east bridgeford? - if that's any closer for you :)

I have Julie Frizzell at Elms farm, she is lovely and makes things so easy to understand, she teaches you to train your horse. Absolutely fantastic, I can't thank her enough for how she has changed my riding and my horse and she is a truely lovely person.

Another Andrew Fletcher fan here. He is not at all scary.... In fact utterly charming. Plus one of the most effective dressage trainers who makes a positive improvement by the end of the session, most people come away desparate for the next session (I only say most as I am sure there will be someone who disagrees - not met them yet though..)

Laura Jarvis is very good and not at all scary. She's based round Sandiacre but is happy to travel to your yard and teaches all levels. She was BD young professional of the year last year. http://www.laurajarvis.com/ is her website. Only young but she's taught this old dog a few new tricks! :) Can you tell I think she's fab?!
