Just a little Q for the local dressage riders.

Those of you who are based in or near Essex, who teaches you and what do you like best about them.

And.... Is there an inspirational trainer who you travel to or have clinics with occasionally and why?

Just being nosey really!

I go to Diane Pegrum, think she is recently or soon to be listed with BD. She's a lovely lady, really supportive and encouraging.

Have also been to clnics with Kim Ratcliffe, which i've really enjoyed.

I'd travel for the Lasseters, seen them in action once before and they had me in stitches!

i know that my trainer trains in Essex sometimes... his name is Herr Weiss and he is an absolute genius... very patient and tolerant with the horse, and puts the pressure on the rider instead. he comes over regularly from Germany, but he is very non-germanic... more french classical school, if anything. he trained with Neuendorff. he has revolutionised my understanding of horses and dressage, and my riding. i just wish i'd met him when i was 8 and not 28!

I use Graham Andrews and find my lessons very motivating and inspiring. We've come on in leaps and bounds since having lessons from him.

I travel up to Bucks to Rebecca Patmore who has helped me more than I thought possible. Roland Tong does clinics at Brooke Farm just down the road from me and I go there too, he is brilliant you should give it a go if it is convenient for you.

Holly - really? Tell me more!

I'm off up north either this or next weekend hopefully as a couple of importers think they might have something I would like.

Also got to give Garry Williams another call as he said to come and have a look at his next lot in.

I have def. given up on private sales now. The straw definately broke the camels back last night! Went see one that was meant to be "a bit sharp and spooky, but very willing" - the rider claiming to be a little over-horsed, and it was the most stuffy, stubborn horse I have ever clapped eyes on! It had the guy who's got it in to sell off in the first 10 mins - and meant it!

Thanks guys - went to see Garry and Verity last month. Dealt mainly with Verity and she was soo lovely! They had 2 that were in my price range but unfortunately one was too small and the other was not as sharp as I like them (perfect for someone who wanted something safe with ability though), but both were very close and still the best I have seen so far.

I have already been in contact with Kay and she doesn't have anything in my price range unfortunately.
