Hey can anyone recommend somewhere that does residential intensive type dressage training, I don't want to take a horse with me just come out fully equipt with most of the knowledge I will need to help train youngstock towards intermediate work.

PS Especially interested if you know a place that doesn't involve a mortgage or if anyone is a fairly high BD rider and wants an assistant for work experience for a week or two? Happy to bring a tent and camp in a stable!!!!

Any suggestions very welcome!

The BD Apprentiship Scheme may be useful to you, but that involves a 1-2 year commitment for a paid position as a working pupil. I am not entirely sure how you can achieve what you want in two weeks, but perhaps I have misunderstood what it is that you are interested in.

'Intensive type dressage training' plenty of top yards do this for as long as you want, you stay there in accomodation and live and breathe the training, and it costs mega bucks!

You're dreaming.

oops gosh almost sorry i asked, i'm riding fairly good lateral movements on a few well behaved horses, and have broken several youngsters and brought them up to prelim level, really just feel it would be helpful as I have some free time to get a new prospective.

Sorry if this seems to be dreamland! I'll get back in my box

Mmm I am not too sure why you are all huffy now. You asked for advice and you got it. People told you quite nicely that what you are looking for is unrealistic, but feel free to prove everyone wrong and learn how to get a youngster to PSG (I assume this is what you mean by 'intermediate' level) in two weeks, on the cheap and with someone letting you learn on all their horses.

If i could get a horse from naught to PSG in 2 weeks I wouldnt need to do anything on the "cheap"! I wish, I just meant spending about 2 weeks learning some new skills which I could use moving forward, clearly my semantics in my original post were a bit off. There do seem to be a couple of dressage trainers offering 3-5 days of quite intense training for manageable amounts of money. I wasn't trying to be tight just not spend crazy money.

Surely its good for all riders at any level to get out their routine and try something new?!

Of course it is and I am glad you have found somewhere. Let us know how you get on and whether it was useful.

Yes, I think your original post was a little bit confusing, which happens easily on this forum! Maybe next time take the time to explain to people what you meant and you will find everyone is very happy to help!

Good luck with your training.
