I am chiefly interested in hacking out but take schooling seriously and keen to ride as correctly as possible. I keep getting told it would be easier to maintain a correct position in a dressage saddle. Is it sensible to consider a dressage saddle or VSD saddle in place of a GP saddle? Only experienced riding in a GP saddle though. Sorry if this is a stupid question - just interested to know if it is feasible to use a dressage saddle out riding. Hacking is all off road so able to maintain a reasonable pace.

I hack out, school and compete in my dressage saddle and don't have a problem with it, in fact it is very comfortable!

I did try jumping once in my dressage saddle and fell off and broke my leg so I wouldn't recommend it for jumping!!:D

I am considering getting a GP for jumping but will keep my dressage for everything else.
