Sorry bit of a boring post but as i am affiliating BD soon, im thinking of treating myself to a new hat for comps.

Was considering a beagler but as i am going to be doing prelim/novice wondered if this was a bit over the top? I was worried that they might not be allowed at my level but Trainer suggested it would be fine and would look smart. What do you guys reckon?

Want something smart, so if not a beagler, perhaps you peeps could suggest something?

Thanks and sorry for bit of a dull qu!

Lots of riders where beaglers at the lower levels and I would definitely recommend one, they look very smart. I wear a Patey hat, although they are pretty expensive, if you want to get something cheaper Derby House have a nice show range.

No prob! My younger sister wears a DH one they are really lovely you wouldn't know the difference. Good luck

I am by no means a dressage afficionado - but why not go for one of the high crown velvets with a flesh leather harness.

Looks for all the world like a beagler from a distance, but does at least offer you some protection if it all goes tits up.

There's nothing elegant about a head injury, and accidents can happen even when you're riding the quietest most well-schooled horse.
