Hi

My dogs are not fussy and will eat any brand, however I would like to keep them on the same brand form now on.
I have GSD 5 years and a sheltie cross/ JRT aged 11 years.

My preferred choice would be Royal Canin as the litlle one doesn't put too much weight with it and their stools are firm. (also the cats love it ) and it doesn't make them hyper. However its is expensive

. Have also given then James Wellbeloved but little one's waistline expands with this.

Can anyone rec a dried food. I have a Pets at Home near me and a Scats.

Beastie gets either Burns or James Well Beloved and does well on both.

ETS: She can't eat Royal Canin as protein level is too high. Also any I've seen has been v.pricey. My sis feeds it to her pup who previously had a sensitive tummy but she does well on it.

Chappie complete have my JRT (who can get funny skin with some foods) and by brothers Labs & ESS (two of which have sensitive tums), they all do well on it.

I might well have to run and hide after admitting this, given that everyone seems to feed their pooches on expensive designer brands ...

but I feed *whisper* Wagg

Cheap as chips and dog in excellent condition! I do add a bit of minced meat in with it though, but not a lot.

Yep..you don't have to pay a fortune to get a descent dog food...my lot are on Chudleys and its even cheaper than chappi

.....The only reason I stopped with the chappi is because the wholesalers I go to had none in stock for a good few weeks so I tried the Chudleys and its good for my lot so stuck to it...but chappi was just as good.

I have 2 border terriers - the fussiest eaters ever - and we have either Burns or James Wellbeloved depending which one they will eat at the time.

Thank you for you replies. Am liking the idea of Chappie. Poor dogs do get their food chopped and changed, usually by OH who buys what ever is on offer. I think most of the of ones I have looked at have 22% 23% protien, what I have also started doing is buying cheap tins on tuna to add to feed a couple of times a week for their joints. Does anyone ever add oil to feeds.

Mine have Burns for breakfast, and then get a meaty tea. I don't add oil to their food as such, but they do get a tin of sardines in tomato each, once a week, and now my older whippet's turned 7 I've started giving him a cod liver oil capsule daily.

My 2 are fed Autarky, £17.99 for a 15kg bag. I tried the cheaper version, Gusto, but their poo wasn't as pleasant to pick up

My parents used to feed their dog Chappie - my Mum worried that it was no good because it was cheap, but the vet said he looked great on it and it suited him so not to change.
