So I have had the lad for 3 weeks now, doing well only fallen off the once and that was bad luck.
Slowly increasing feed levels to get some meat on him and so far no major issues except he loves his grub.
Posted the other day about getting him to drop his head, he is such a lush bloke. He is actually teaching me how to ride better. If I keep myself tidy on his back and my hands low apart and soft he drops his head into quite a nice position. I think I had been trying too hard before.
Today when I rode him and we started trotting his head came up too high so I relaxed my shoulders lightened my seat and indicated my desire for a lower head carriage and he said "I remember you want my head here." It was lovely.
I am afraid I think he is a lot cleverererer than I had anticipated. He has started gently trying it on.
Twice he indicated his inability to turn right ever, so I just sat there told him he could either turn right or stand still but not nap to the left . No row no beating just a swift pony club kick with the right leg and he gave in. We also had a little discussion about wearing his bridle I dont think there is fear or pain just a bit of cheek.
So 3 weeks in and unfortunatly I am in love probably because he has the same lovely nature as Gulliver but sorry Gully hes a bit nicer to school (probably).
