This may well be the last time I have enough time to post about the new boy.
Arrived too early and yard was deserted. Phoned Tina in Ireland who phoned her mum in the next Village.
He was in bathed coatshined hooves well oiled ready and waiting.
Getting him in the trailer was a bit of a marathon but having said that it was only about 15 mins just felt like an hour.
Needed a lunge line and a scoop of nuts It was all a bit too new. Travel Boots Tail bandage and a Trailer instead of a lorry, this said although we had a lot of the going backwards and bum spinning you get with a horse (oh and one extremely squished little toe - mine!!) he was very polite with his barging never once attempted to kick out and never tried to rear all good signs methinks.
Anyway a lungeline and patient stubbornness from us and he was loaded. He travelled very well no messing around in the trailer.
Got to the yard and pulled up opposite his stable Hard hat Gloves ready to dive out of the way as he launched himself off the front ramp. Warned OH to stand well back untied his rope moved the partition and..........
He walked gently down the ramp like a little pussycat. He is tucked up in his stable chomping away contentedly and I am going back later to try a saddle on and turn him out in the arena for a mooch!!
Lizzie Chapman holding him for me said gosh he's big!!
