Driver education petition

I think you will find that drivers DO KNOW how to pass animals safely but CHOOSE NOT TO DO SO

IMO the petition will not produce any changes to the above
 
ROG- we all know you are a super star but there are many who are not.

Of course it is down to the individual but to be taught it properly from the start can't do any harm. When I was learning to drive I got told off for slowing down to pass a horse :confused: I was 'supposed' to just pass it with a bit of space as horses who are on the road should be used to cars :eek:
I'd love to think this was a one off but I very rarely get passed correctly but learners :(

Not wishing to start an argument but that is what I've experianced.
 
I'm sure some people are deliberately stupid, but there are others who just DON'T KNOW how horses might respond and so I'm sure having something extra in the driving test can't do any harm!!
 
I think its a good idea, along with a tv campaign, and maybe some high profile court cases actually throwing the book at these people who cause death and serious injury.

I think its an excellent idea as even when I'm walking out with my mum between me and the traffic they still don't slow down or pass wide.
It seems to me that people don't really understand how to pass animals on the road
 
LGVs Bicycles and probably many other things are only mildly mentioned when learning to drive so unless a major change to the way in which the basic driving test and training is being propsed then this is going to be lost in the ether

That extra training etc would cost more and would be unpopular if the cost is too much so would probably lose votes for any Govt that introduced it

I agree with the sentiment of this petition but remain a realist
