hi, got a brilliant shetland thats just starting out on driving, is excellent in hand and long lining in just headcollar and voice commands, so for a harness, looking for a gentle bit that will maintain the soft mouth

would a liverpool 2 slot be ok, or could i get away with a normal french link snaffle? any reason a different bit is used in harness than riding bridle?

also, any experience on robinsons shetland traps?

thanks :D

Ours (mini shets) drive in thin jointed snaffle out on road or a bitless from here
http://www.nurturalhorse.com/ if in the fields or sandschool playing with cones etc. We have a Robinsons exercise trap and, to be honest, it's been fine, apart from having to move the swingle tree as it was far too high, had it for 3 years now and it has survived training 3 new ponies and OH belting around. Other than that they drive in pairs in 4 wheeler carriage
