I was wondering if there were many people who drove or had horses in Harness for any reason here on HHO?
Im pretty new to the game, but my mum grew up on a farm and drove all her life, and having competed in harness/broken many to drive she decided to start a business breaking horses to drive part time (shes a school teacher the rest of the time) My dad was made redundant and we inherited some money from my uncle so we bought a 5.5 acre smallholding with 6 mahooosive stables. At first clients were few and far between but recently we have had sooo many phone calls and I just wondered if more people are getting into driving so my questions are do you drive, if you do what size or type of equine? If you have pics that would be cool. If you dont drive could I ask if there is any reason why not?

I drive our section A... I broke him to harness last year with an exercise cart, then rushed out and bought a very posh, very old, showing gig for him... but it's sat in the barn gathering dust and cobwebs ever since!

Lovely ponies- mum has one but hes a chesnut roan. Love the Shetland- we need to get a trap for dinkies, the smallest we can break is 11hh at the moment. Love the action shots!

Used to drive Shires as a teenager at a Country Park where I worked.

I have been breaking my daughters Haffy x to harness (took about 30 minutes, think he may have done it before!) this summer. Still don't have anything for him to pull, a sleigh would be fun in the winter! At the moment he is doing well hauling trees out of the bush, the ATV can't get in there, but he can. May as well earn his keep somehow.

I have my pony broken to drive - I drive her about once a week and have stared competing!its brilliant - love it!!

My pony is on the photo gallery - under bex 1984 - here is my pony!!!

she is a 13.3 welsh cross cob - she is excellent to drive and ride - we do allsorts!!

Yes, definately.
My first pony we broke to harnes, she died from Grass Sicknes, got another welsh A and had him professionaly broken. Then ,one by one we bought three driving donkeys, and my hubby already had a big ride/drive cob. We now give Carriage Rides as a business, Hubby has been driving for over 20 years, originally driving Shires, I have been driving for 6
