Don't do it! Cheapo leather falls to pieces. This makes it expensive because you will always be having it repaired and buying replacement parts. It is also unsafe. You need every part of a driving harness to be strong. You could easily end up having a fatal accident if a trace snaps. It will aso be a nightmare to clean.

If you are on a budget, a set of Tedex will last a lifetime and does not need running repairs. You can sling it in the washing machine to clean it and it is very hard wearing. I have a set of tedex that has been used virtualy every day for five years and it looks fab & has never needed repair. It also holds its value, so if you sell it on you will get almost what you paid for it. A c*appy leather set will be worthless. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Horse-Pony-Cob-Cob...1QQcmdZViewItem

If that is too expensive, go for a set of Libby's which is just as safe, strong and comfortable.

Zilco is the best! I think Tedex looks tatty after a bit. Zilco looks nearly as nice as leather but is tougher and way easier to clean.

Don'g get cheap leather- Synthetic every time. Libbies is OK, and simalar prive to the one you showed. Tedex lasts well, and is OK, but zilco definately is top. (We have all 3 of the above types, so if you would like can show you pictures of them in use)

Also make sure you get the correct type of Pad, as it can be a costly mistake if you get the wrong type by mistake.

That harness is Indian and will not be a very good size, often things such as the traces being way too long.
As a starter harness I personally think cheap leather harness is good as long as it is checked for safety every time used. Should an incident occur, the leather will snap, wheras a synthetic one won't. Generally the cost of a good synthetic harness is well worth it in the long run, and ideally anyone's first choice.

I *think* Rara might mean if it has a sliding or fixed backband?!?!

If you're using a 2 wheeled vehicle you must use a sliding backband (so the weight of the vehicle can move), if it's a 4 wheeled vehicle then you can use either sliding or fixed.
