I have just bought a 3.5tonne lorry which I know I can drive on a standard driving licence. Does anybody know what I am permitted to carry? I have a 15.1hh ISH mare who can go in it fine but do you if I can carry anything with her? I was told I can carry a horse and a pony but not two horses.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

It depends what the unladen weight of your lorry is. The best way to find this is to take it to a public weighbridge and get it weighed when you have no horses or kit aboard - you'll then know how much you have to play with.

My 7.5T has an unladen weight of 5.2 tonnes so I have over two tonnes to play with, but a friend has a 7.5T that already weighs 6.5 tonnes unladen, so it can vary greatly between vehicles.
