Hi guys,

so on Tues I have 2 mini Shetlands coming.
ones a 32" stunning blue dun stallion and his son who's gelded..

both will be spoilt rotten and pampered but i intend for them to work as i don't want fat little bratty Shetlands!

i intend to drive them and although I've driven before I've only ever driven a single horse...

as these two are always together and a bit smaller than your average Shetlands i had the bright idea of driving them as a pair, just for pleasure but you never know!

however, i dont know if I'm being thick or just not searching properly but I've only managed to find one set of harnesses to fit a Shetland and be in a pair, does anyone know where i can get correct harnesses(pref cheaply!).

also, how on earth do i find a cart suitable to take a pair of shetlands?? Again not for £1000s please!
can you only get 4 wheeled carriages to drive a pair not a 2 wheeled cart/trap?

i would have to get help and lessons as I've never driven a pair but i can start the basics!

i know people do drive Shetland pairs for scurry driving etc so these things must exist or have i got it all totally wrong??

if its all very complicated and expensive Il just have to drive them separately but be great to drive them as a pair! Please help

Great idea to drive your Shetlands as a pair. Second millikins answer that you will need a 4 wheeler to drive a pair. You could try Dragon Driving. They are better with vehicles than ponies though you have to sift through quite a lot of dross to find the good ones. Companies like Libby's or Cottage Craft make cheaper synthetic harnesses though leather in undoubtedly safer.Hope you get going with them and enjoy it.

Hi Sarah! I have a full size driver so no idea about dinky's, however there's a 'small pony' section on the British Carriagedriving forum and the Indoor Driving Trials Forum- loads of guys (especially on the indoor one) who drive minis, and will be able to help out :)
