Driving people-kicking strap help

I'e been trying to find a kicking strap for my mare online yet they all seem to come from America. Failing that the only one I can find is £60! Can anyone point me in the right direction as where to get one? There are some instructions on how to mke your own but I wasn't sure if this would work the same?
Pippa has been put to cart once but she has had a break for about a month whilst we have been doing it up. She's not a kicker but I am just wanting to air on the side of caution.

I think the fact that you can't find one suggests they are not essential, I use very good hind boots in case there is any kerfuffle.

you can improvise with a spare bridle rein or part of a lunge rope.

Thanks MrsD, I think I shall try and knock one up. I hope it won't be necessary but just in case

they are not a usual part of harness.... the bit you describe is also called a bucking strap if you are searching on line .... as suggested you can make one up with a suitable length of other strapping.

It's just one more thing to take off if you have to get the pony out in an emergency. You have to undo both sides.
