How would one go about riding a horse that has been used for driving? I am asking this as l have no idea and my friend has just acquired such a horse. But l am wanting to know what’s involved and what to look out for.

Has it been ridden before? If not, why did your friend buy it? If you don't know, treat it as you would any unbacked horse. Pluses are it won't bother about having tack on it and should be fine in traffic.

When my pony was broken to ride, instructor treated him as he would have any horse which came for breaking.

Hi friend of a friend purchased. More money than sense . I am just an outsider observing it all with great interest.

Yes l thought he same e the tack and traffic.
The back person is coming to check as when he had a little lunge the lady reckoned there is some lameness. So he is being checked.
I think as so young and pulling a cart may have caused injury or could have had a field accident. But we shall see.
Thank you

Just pulling a cart is unlikely to have caused injury, per se. Of course accidents do happen to drivers, as well as to riders.
