This is a group on Facebook where drone enthusiasts use their skills searching for lost dogs. I have just suggested they could also search for missing horses - often the supposedly "stolen" ones have escaped and got stuck in hedges, wire or ditches. They are happy to extend to that and liaise with the police - the problem is making horse owners aware. I have linked them to Horsewatch, any other ideas how to find out when an equine has gone missing?

This is a good idea, however operators need to be aware of the law regarding the operation of drones, particularly in regards to the proximity of people and any buildings.

They do - they are experts in the legalities - visit the group and you will see. Can any Horsewatch members or contacts make their local branch aware please

im Sandwell Horsewatch based in West Bromwich, West Midlands, I have copied the info to a few of the other groups that i know and forwarded it onto National Horsewatch as well. We have a National meeting in November and i will let the groups there know as well. Thanks
