I've done a lot of riding with drones for filming various things. The horses quickly get used to them, and anyway only really react once the drone drops into eye level. That's with professional camera drone operators, wouldn't like to have an amateur buzzing around with one.

We do know someone who shoots them down, rightly or wrongly, because round here they are increasingly a nuisance and/or used to stake out properties.

^^^^ Sounds a good idea to me!!

Best thing to do with the darn things, use 'em for target practice. At least it acts as a deterrent if nothing else.

Another example - along with electric (silent) cars - of the words "Government" "c@ck-up", "foresight", "lacking" coming together into a coherent sentence. Don't let me get going on it coz makes me just see red purple blue & every other bloomin' colour.

Don't they use drones at racecourses?
I'm sure i was at a racecourse in Ireland and there was a drone above, recording, when they were racing.

The Droe whould be flown within 'Line of Sight' of the operator so you should be able to see the operator and request them not to fly the Drone over yoiur property.

Not necessarily with goggles nowadays. We used to do professional drone photography and video, we could fly some distance away using goggles. Should never fly low over livestock or over private property unless have permission. Speak to the person if you can find them and tell them, theyre probably unaware it upsets the horses. My horses are all used to them but we'd never get close enough to annoy them with it!

Yeah no, if you've ever touched a blade of a proper drone it hurts. No way a bird would touch them. Maybe the tiny little hobby ones would be ok.
I mean you can see the video of the hawk doing it in this thread
