Have had a couple of drops kicking around the tack room for ages, have used them on other horses but put one on my girl today.

At the age of 19, her newest party trick is putting her tounge over the bit - shes got this down to a fine art, and can do it in seconds.

Tried the drop today and BINGO!! A whole 45min session with the tounge staying in the right place.

I am a very happy bunny!

Really pleased with how well it worked.

She is a cantakerous old bag sometimes, and fights tight nosebands, so a drop is perfect as it is loose but effective.

I might have to change her jumping bit though as that was what she started this with - a pelham, as I can't use a drop & a curb chain....

Totally agree. Taken over by flashes it seems in popularity and yet less harsh. Some dont like how it can elongate the face but our boy has long slender face and looks fine in it plus it is dressage legal. He goes happier in it than the flash which we never liked to be honest xx

I use one over a flash as I prefer them and my horse seems happy, also it is one less bit of leather to clean!! Nah a flash is a pain as it is hard to get the noseband and drop bit to match each other, if the drop strap is too tight, it drags the noseband bit down and vise versa. Give me a drop any time (correctly fitted of course)! :D
