I tried the drop noseband today for the first time. I think it went well. She started off much the same and leaning a lot being very strong and not wanting to flex to the left, and then I think things did start to improve. She started to accept the bit a bit and relax her jaw, on both reins with no real preference either side. She did chomp on the bit quite a bit and tried to open her mouth and tank off but she couldn't, despite the noseband not being tight at all. I think chomping is better than setting her jaw against the bit though. When settled she was quiet but accepting of the bit, it just didn't last long.
I think it was a good enough session to want to continue with this noseband However we're having her saddle checked tomorrow as we're not convinced it fits completely. We'll see what that shows.
