I have been thinking of asking, for Christmas, for a dry bag for Harvey (for when he's bigger of course) to dry him off after he's been let loose on the farm.

There seems to be two types, zip up and pull cord and toggle.

Which would be best? I'm struggling to imagine a Cocker Spaniel staying still long enough to either zip up or tuck into a draw cord version but I will await anyone's opinion on style and their relative usefulness.

A dry bag

what on Earth is that?
One of the nurses at work used to have a water proof suit type thing, that looked like a jump suitey thing, it covered all of the dogs body and zipped up along her back, leaving her head and tail out

this was to stop her moultig all over the car

It was like the material of those bags that u can unzip and make into a light weight coat

The man down the road has one for his springers that he takes beating. He says they keep the car clean AND dry the dog off quickly.

Look how happy this Cocker looks in his! PMSL!!!!!

Ive got a towelling one for Daisy, it zips up, i thought she would apreciate it but she was out of it before i drove her the 3 miles from the yard!!

I considered one, but went for a spangle jumper instead as I had visions of Henry trying to walk in it and doing himself an injury

Thats like one of those things I used to put over myself to get changed at the beach when I was a kid!!!

Id use one for mine but shes probably suffocate herself in it or something stupid

I had one for Kira (my cocker before Sweep) and she would snuggle up in it in the car post walk and I would let her out at home mostly dry and the car sort of clean. She was about 11 or 12 by this time though so about as sensible as a spangle gets.....

St Sweep however just couldn't get his miniscule brain cell around it - to start with was small enough to walk out of it

- then was to big to get out of it but would try and walk and fall over

- although that is very amusing in itself.

I would by a snuggly rug/jumper thingy instead - or just stick to old towels.....

Oooh the falling over IS funny (I'm such a bad mummy

). I borrowed one for a week from a friend to try out last year, she swears by it for her spangle.....I'm sticking with a jumper! Think it depends on the pooch - Harvey seems a clever chap, he might not be as dopey as my girl!

My girl would never sit still long enough for one of those. I bought her an Equafleece tankie which is great. When she gets wet we just put it on and she keeps it on till she is warm and dry. Saves the furniture getting wet and dirty and she can still move around in it quite happily.
I did try her in a Jumper but she was a bit worried about it being more restrictive so got her their Tankie instead.
