I'm looking for a bit of help and hoping I can count on you guys :)

We have an elderly (13yo) bitch and I need recommendations for dry food. She needs to put on weight after a recent nasty illness. She is well in herself now with plenty of energy and happy, just underweight. We used to feed Chappie dry biscuits but I think they have changed the recipe as she now won't touch them, but does eat tinned Chappie. Looking for suggestions for a dry food we can leave down during the day, so she can eat whenever she wants to.

To complicate matters, she has a VERY sensitive tummy (colitis) so we have to be careful what we give her. Chappie suits her tummy but as I say, although she will eat it from a tin, she will no longer eat the biscuits. She has turned her nose up at Arden Grange in the past but could be worth a try again now she's on the mend, I guess.

Can I get samples from dog food companies in the same way I can ask for horse feed samples? What can we try?

Thanks :)

Give Skinners a claa as their turkey & rice or Salmon & rice may suit and they used to be pretty good with samples.
Personally I wouldn't leave food down all day - by all means leave the bowl down for a couple of hours at a time in her case but dogs' digestive systems are designed to digest batches rather than graze all day.

Why not feed a tinned meal & then use a dry second feed?
