dry foods - come on, tell all

We feed our Border Collie and Husky Millie’s. Both are doing really well on it. We do occasionally switch flavours so they don’t get bored.

I was just chatting to the neighbour about dog food and she said she swaps flavours too (as do I) but really, do you think they notice? Ours eat theirs in about 20 seconds flat, the taste must be irrelevant!

Maybe they don't notice but I prefer to feed a variety of protein sources as they all contribute different things to the diet....okay, I feed raw but I would hope that the same principle would apply to wet/kibble food as well, or.............??

I do actually change the food, so this month it is duck I think, next lot will be something else. Ours have a lot of extras at the moment, as well (apart from the standard deer poo, rabbit poo, chicken poo, crab apples and damsons). I agree about the different protein but am not sure the dogs care about the taste.
GGD - as regards our Belsen like spaniel, I am not sure whether to give her something different/extra or just accept it is normal for a young one. She is sleeping in the house as of tongiht, as she really is thin and it is getting colder out, I am hoping that might help.

I feed Seven mixed with Nature Diet wet food. I was given a whole load of ZiwiPeak wet and dry - that is so good but boy is it expensive.

Akela worked wonders on every dog I've tried on it when I was in the UK

Currently feed something very similar now I'm in Ireland - Nutrivet Inne Energetique I think its called and equally as good as the Akela so far.

Clodagh, a good squirt of salmon oil on skinny spaniels feeds will help, coconut oil or just good old cooking oil is good too.

She is sleeping inside now, which has helped a lot. I am meeting a friend who sells flax oil next week so may try that.
