Dry itchy flaky skin

Weve just rehomed a yorkie. No flee's but constantly scratching and has dry flakey skin.
We will be changing diet but anything we can put on her without making her a greasy mess.

My nan uses a supplement intended for humans on her dog- no idea what its called but was recommended by her vet so maybe you could ask yours? Works out cheaper than skin supplements for dogs.
Bathing in tea tree oil shampoo may help, or maybe using aloe vera on the skin, if this is in gel form it usually doesn't leave a sticky mess?
I don't have a problem with my dogs skin but feed her salmon oil and her coat is lovely- have heard it is supposed to be excellent for skin as well as other things.

Treat it with Advocate or Promeris just in case it is Cheylatiella..which looks like dandruff. A good bath in Malaseb would be a great idea as well.

Im sure a change in diet will have a big input on your dog as long as you choose a good quality food.
