Hello all

Really I am being a bit gormless - usually a resourceful person. Going to move laminitic pony to a different paddock in the near future but it is currently waist high in nettles.

It isn't my land (but have full permission) so really want the cheapest way also.

He is currently on a grass free area that we have successfully covered with free wood chippings. Can't see this working with this giant nettles.

Any ideas?

nettles dislike being topped .
you can strim hand chop or use a sit on lawn mower .
If you had more time I would say spray them top but that’s going work so get them down get leave them a few days to dry they rake them up go at them every time they show green it won’t take long to get them under control .
Please leave a small patch if you can some butterfly’s over winter in stand nettles .

Mud Control mats. Not the cheapest option but easy to lay, and take up/move, can put straight onto flattish ground
If you strim the nettles, once they are wilted then pony will eat them
