My setter has had a few patches of dermatitis, which cleared up well with Fuciderm gel, but he keeps scratching one of the bare patches - mostly at night. The red, angriness has disappeared, and the vet is happy that the acute dermatitis has resolved but the skin is very dry and flaky, and I think this is why he is scratching. Anyone got any bright ideas about what I can do to make him more comfortable? He also scratches when he gets cold (He's a mega wimp) and if he gets upset - I'm managing those issues by putting a coat on him when we're outside, and not having other dogs in HIS house, but I feel that I need to do something to sort out the dryness caused by the steroid cream.
