It's what mum wants - a dog bred to be capable of being shown and worked. You could get them 20 years ago when Barney came into the world, not sure if the divide between the two strains has become even more marked since then though. Not that she can have a puppy for a few more years yet!

Glad I made someone laugh. There used to be a lot of it going on, but it seems quite rare at the moment ;-)
No advise re your serious question though, sorry. I'd like to think that a good, well put together working dog would also show well, but we all know that isn't always the case!

Don't think so, most of the show types would be a bit on the slow side compared with leggier working ones, even ignoring "show condition"...
