watched the dvd, any extra things i should know before starting to learn to use it?

I'm sure it was on the dvd, but never ever tie up with the lead rope attached to the nose ring.
Always remember its a pressure and release tool, so once they do what you ask, immediately release the pressure, even if its just a little step in the right direction. The reward is the release of pressure.
It really is worth getting a lesson with it, so you use it correctly..have you tried the Monty Roberts website and looked for an Recommended Associate in your area?

Make sure it's done up properly so the noseband is high on the face, otherwise the nose rope will be too low. And just be careful, no yanking hard on the nose (I'm sure you won't!).
