Just wondering if anyone can help me... I want to get one a dually/pressure headcollar thingy; has anyone got any recommendations, preferably nice and cheap, as the duallys are rather expensive!

Thanks

I looked a few different sorts but in the end just went for the Dually. It's good quality and mine is still going strong 4 years later and I've only stopped using it as his everyday headcollar in the last 6 months (as he doesn't need it for being led to field at current yard). I still use it for loading etc.

Pls don't use the Be Nice, taught my boy to rear!

If I can give any advice it would be to pay a bit extra and get someone out to help you. This sorted the problem far more effectively than a headcollar xx

I tried the Dually but my timing isn't great and mine broke after about 18 months. I've now bought a get knotted halter which has really made a difference, (she used to set her neck and drag me). I haven't tried it for loading yet though

Having used them for several years, I've never had one rear in a Be Nice so I suspect - but obviously don't know, going by your comment, that yours had rearing as his automatic response and get out reaction to anything he didn't like.

I have a be nice, a dually and a rope halter. I don't really use any of them, but good to have around. I prefer a stallion chain over the nose on a normal headcollar to the dually and prefer the cheap shires rope halter to the be nice - seems I like the cheaper options!

I use a dually for my boy who can be strong to lead (drags and can barge). It has been a godsend, feel I have a lot more control with it and have also ridden and lunged in it. I personally wouldn't use anything else.

Ditto! Except I use cheapo rope headcollar pretty much as default.
If I needed to deal with a problem then I just use a stallion chain to a leather headcollar, but it’s so rare for me to resort to that.

ETA - doh! Zombie thread
