Just wondered if anyone has any preferences. I currently have a dually and think its very good but need another pressure type headcollar, cant have rope ones as the person who helps me bring in the horses gets confused with them as she is elderly ish!! just had a look and the eskadron with chain and would appreciate anyones thoughts on them please. thank you.

I have the eskadron chain headcollar and it is BRILLIANT! Much better than the dually IMHO. Bolshy horse respects it, one tug and he's back, plus you can clip the lead to the headcollar ring to tie up etc so it can be used as a normal headcollar as well. Fab piece of kit, I'd highly recommend them.

I bought the eskadron one and think it's great. Having been dragged about for the past 13 years by my horse it is nice to finally KNOW I have control (although he's 'tested' it!).

Looks nice and smart too. Only problem I found with mine is my horse must have an odd sized head as the Cob size was too small but the full was a bit big but it wasn't a big issue, just got our saddlery shop to adjust the padding on the headpiece so I could tighten it up more.

Never tried or even seen a dually though (only ever had this oen horse who has no respect for headcollars so never had to try anything else!)

I could never find a blooming stallion chain when I looked, only very expensive leather headcollars with chains built in. The Eskadron one was £22 which i didn't think was bad at all.

Save your money - I use a bog standard leather headcollar and a £2 dog choke chain which I thread through the sides rings under the jaw - attach to lead rope or old draw rein and instant control if they pull back, barge etc. I have on occasion tied up with it under the jaw for when I want them to stay put whilst doing something. Also great for loading.

Just buy a stallion chain and rig it up to your current headcollar. Much cheaper and very effective.

This is what i do with Alee. Since introducing this she is fine 99% of the time. On the other 1% when she is a little high spirtited (thats me trying to be nice

) 1 pull and she realises she's not going any where and walks nicely again.
