Dubarry boots

I bought my girlfriend a lovely pair of the tall Dubarry Galway boots for Christmas this year. She loves them, but she seems to thing they're indestructible. She wears them almost daily riding in the wet mud and snow - by evening the leather is soaking wet and caked in mud. She almost never cleans her boots so they're often still damp and muddy when she puts them on the next morning. So far her feet are warm and dry but I'm worried they'll start leaking and she'll want a new expensive pair before long.

Anybody have any pictures or stories of their Dubarrys leaking after repeated soakings? Would like to convince her she might want to take better care of hers.

No cos I'm at the other extreme & my hubby takes the Mick out of me as I avoid the mud & wet as want to keep them looking pristine so they last as long as poss....I can't run to another £300 + anytime soon!

Yes ! Mine are uncared for and leak like a seive!

Mine are just over 2 years old worn through everthing but get properly looked after and are still fully waterproof after trying all the cheap imitations their is no subistute for the Dubarry Boot I clean them with Dubarry products and Nic wax which is what i think is what is in the Dubarry bottles with out the price tag.
What is the point in buying expensive boots and just neglecting them!

I was always told buy the best Bed and Best Boots you can afford because if you arnt in one you should be in the Other, and look after them.

Hi, mine are a few years old rather u cared for, but they are my wellies as such. They have cracked around the foot but aren't leaking as yet. I would rather have wellies but they rub my feet and my dubarrys are really comfy. they do live in the boiler room so dry out rather quickly xx

I would suggest you give them a good clean for her and show her any damage she has already done. They will last, mine are 3 years old, but you do need to re-wax to keep them waterproof. If you don't they crack and die - I have a friend who treated hers similarly to your girlfriend and they have not lasted at all well.
