I really love them and OH has offered to get me a pair for b-day/xmas but I'm struggling to come to terms with spending that much money on a pair of boots!! I'm just worried that I'd get them and then be far to worried to take them out of their box for fear of damaging them let alone actually wearing them

Are they worth the money?

It's either those or a pair of Diesel jeans and the Dublin River boots (Dubarry lookalikes)....oh what to do?!!

Weezy - Did you look after yours, ie clean/treat leather etc?

2/3 years isn't too bad - are you all wearing them daily? I like the look of the walnut coloured ones though have yet to ever try a pair on, I'm always too scared to go to the stands at any events as they all look too posh!!!

Yes, wore pretty much everyday, and treated appallingly

The leak isn't THAT bad, but I do not walk in puddles anymore!

Don't be put off going to the stand - they give you free champagne

Remember that YOU are the client and without client's money they would have no business

LOVE my Dubarrys! Daughter bought them for me last Christmas and I don't think I've taken them off since! Problem is, daughter loves them so much that she's taken to wearing them herself recently so it looks as though I'll have to buy her a pair!

I wear mine all the time (people must think i have no other shoes!) but they are fabulous!

Free champagne is also a bonus - and if you go to show stands wearing them you can also often get yourself some more champagne then!

I have the dubarry conditioner and waterproofer for mine, 2 years old but still going strong and i would def buy another pair when these are sufficiently battered!!

Love mine dearly - 2 years old this Christmas and have never leaked. I wear them 4/5 days a week at college (ag. course) and often at the weekends too so they get a thorough battering!

I've had mine for 2 years and they started leaking about 3 months ago

Dubarry were not very helpful and refused to replace them. They are lovely boots, really comfy, but they are a lot of money if you can't guarantee that they are going to last longer than 2/3 years. I have since heard some research that the ammonia on horse pee erodes the waterproofing, and I did used to muck out in mine so maybe that was what did it - if you do buy some, don't muck out in them!!!!

Mine have been stood in all sorts for the last 2 winters and they havent given up yet. If you can bear it it does help to occasionally treat them with the leather conditioner they try and sell you when you buy a pair! I reckon Ive done mine half a dozen times

since I got them. I wear mine daily including mucking out.

I bought mine back in 2003 or 2004 and they have been treated absolutely appallingly over this period of time. They are still totally waterproof, have never had a moments worry over them and the once a year clean-up they get, has them looking like brand new every time.

In my opinion, they are worth every penny - I just wish they would make ones which are insulated for down to -40 as I can no longer wear mine during the depths of winter, they are too cold. In England, my feet were never ever cold in them.
