Those that have them, do you think £219 is average price or are they cheaper at events on the tradestand? I haven't looked and am about to order a pair on their website!! It's the Galway ones!

Also, do you think they fit big, small or perfect - not sure what size to get!!

And lastly

are they quite skinny? I have skinny legs and HATE baggy boots!! If they are not, can you get skinnier ones made?

Oh, and what is your fave colour of them?

I think I'm the only one on here who hates my durbarrys and think they are a total rip off. Mine leak and still after sending them back my feet still get wet in them. I clean them frequently as well. I have skinny legs and they do buldge on me.
I much prefer my molohs. Fab boots, never gone baggy smart and look fab.
As I said I think I'm the only one but there's always one isn't there

Mine come up fine because they do half sizes so you can g the best fit

Not sure they're cheaper on trade stands. They are quite baggy but if you get the berfect size I find they're fine.

Have never seen them discounted on trade stands Im afraid!

I love mine and have had no problems with them at all. They are going to have to go to be re heeled and soled though as I wear them so much I have worn them away on the bottoms!

I love, love, love my dubarrys - to the point I now have 2 pairs!! I paid about £180 for my boots - but they were on sale

Do they drop down alot and all go around your heel (sorry I can't describe what I mean!)?
What colour do you guys have? I can't decide between the brown leather with brown or with the orangy brown!!

ETA: I meant ankle not heel

That's the brown/mahogany - the most common ones, I have those and the moss/mahogany. Prefer the ones in the pic

I'm one second from ordering the ones in the pic!!! Thanks guys!
Just want to know - as I went to the check out it asked me if I want the care kit.... is it needed? Do you have to proof them before you start wearing them?

I have the ones in the photo too. I've probably cleaned them a handful of times over the years and mine have been through all the mud and poo you can ever imagine - they still look fab when you clean them.

I believe I had mine for about a year before I put anything on them - I only use a waterproofer once every year or so.

Nope, you can just take them out and stick 'em on! But if y want to keep them in tip top shape you might as well pay a few extra pounds for the care kit.

Tia, I noticed yours on your daughter in the pics of the lovely Legacy - I thought they were the colour in the pic - I like them better when they have been worn a bit!!
I have now ordered them and the care kit! I hope they arrive asap!! (and NOT when my dad is in

)

Oh you will love them! Yes sadly mine have been stolen.......what's new! *raises eyes to sky*

Can anyone tell me what makes them worth the hype? Everyone who has them seems to rave about them, but what makes them worth so much money, and so special?

Mine arrived today that I bought at Badminton...l'm still not 100% sure about them - I have skinny legs and they are alittle baggy but I'm assured that they do look fine with jeans tucked ion - but I wouldn't wear them with a skirt like some at Badders were doing. It also depends on the size of your feet - I'm a size 6 so they're wider than my friends who is a size 3. Wish they did narrow fittings - that would be fab.

And I think you'll find £219 is pretty much what you'll pay anywhere. I paid that last week at Badminton. I got the walnut ones - the darker brown ones!

They are super comfy, really warm in winter, waterproof....etc. The only thing that put me off them initially was seeing so many people wearing them

. I hate to be one of the in-crowd, however over in England mine were the only ones I knew which were totally caked in mud and they look so much better grubby
grin.gif
. Over here, I've never met anyone else with them....this suits me so much better.

I also think they are a real rip off. Mine leaked so I exchanged them and the next pair leaked too. When I wrote to Dubarry I received a response telling me that it was normal for my feet to feel 'damp' when in wet areas - no word of a lie. And this is from a company that expects people to pay a huge amount for waterproof leather boots - that aren't waterproof.

Am now much happier with my hunters.

Rant over!!

Tia, that was my only reservation too.
But I HATE not having cozy, warm boots and everyone raves that these are the ones to keep your feet dry, warm and comfy so it was only a matter of time until I got some!!!
Now they had better live up to their reputation!!!!

I have hunters too though and I do love them and they keep my feet dry but my feet are so cold in them - they are like ice blocks in the winter even with big thick socks!! Maybe i'm just a wimp about cold feet but I hate doing the yard in winter in my Hunters!
