Anyone have the Dublin Deluxe wellies?

I bought a pair a month or so ago. Within a week the heel started to leak. The (online) seller was really good and replaced them free of charge inc P&P (and didn't want the old ones back).

Less than 2weeks of wear the heel on new pair started to leak. Thankfully the opposite from the first damaged one so I could swap them over.

Today ANOTHER heel has started to leak. Grr. So I've now got 3 out of 4 leaky wellies

After much poking I found the hole: the treads are really heavy and chunky on first inspection (the reason I bought them!) but the rubber between the raised bits is very thin and flimsy. The heel is also hollow. The one of the large treads on the heel has been pushing into the hollow heel and ripped the material between. I've not used them for anything excessive and at most have stood on a stone. Having prodded the one remaining intact one I could prob push the tread into the heel with just my thumb.

One would be unlucky but 3 out of 4 heels is surely just bad design!!?!

Anyone else had this issue? I'm about to contact the seller again but it's not her fault and it'll prob just mean her loosing money. I've also complained directly to Dublin.

In the meantime the plan is to fill the hollow heel with flexible silicon sealant........

Never had Dublin wells but I bought some Dublin Pinnacle boots (whatever they are called lol...) and I have had the same problem!!!!!

Within a week they started leaking! Had them a few months and now both leak, I do a lot of walking to the farm and it has caused the inside of the heel to collapse and cause a huge hole! I wouldn't mind but I'm hardly heavy at 8 and a half stone, 5ft 8 tall and size 6 lol!

My Mum bought the Dublin River boots also, don't really stand up to their name...I wouldn't trust them in a puddle!!! Lol! She's having the same problem! :(

I would try and get a refund and then stay away from Dublin boots!

Was pleased with mine till like you they split but that did this after 3 months so no money back. I wondered if I had trod on a stone and punctured them. Naff boots and I paid about £30 . Never again!

I had the Dublin jod boots and the heel unit collapsed on one side of one of them, which meant they were unusable as they were unlevel.
I had them replaced but the replacements werent that great either, I stay away from Dublin boots now too.

Got to say I've tried loads of different wellies and winter boots and the only boots I love for not leaking are hunters and muck boots, no more wet feet :)

Ive also had trouble with the dublin yard (pinnacle) boots. Advertised as waterproof but no way! So I contacted Dublin who said they were not waterproof so I quoted their advert and they back down and changed their tune. Would never have another Dublin boot will stick to Ariat in future.

I bought a pair of Dublin River Boots less than a month ago and 1 of them is already leaking. One foot comes home absolutely drenched. Needless to say I shall be wanting my £109 back from Robinsons or for them to be exchanged!

I had a pair of these ages ago, bought from Derby House in Glasgow. They leaked within a month and when I returned them the girl told me there was a known issue with them and not to bother getting another pair as a replacement. That was a good while ago, DH is no longer in Glasgow

Dublin footwear is noted for its lack of durability and poor quality what it needs is for every one to not only post on here but to get onto Weatherbeeta - Dublin Directly and tell them their claims are not true, the DRB and Pinnacle are no longer claimed waterproof by Dublin.
I have an ongoing complaint with Sherwood about their claims about their Furlong Boots which make Dublin River boots apear to be like Dubarry Boots in comparison first pair let water in at rear gusset on day 1. I was told by sherwood the boots are fully waterproof Breatheable and sealed to the top! (The trouble is they just inhale water) second pair let water in at the rear gusset and then started leaking in the left foot where believe it or not the innersole is stitched through the alleged waterproof membrane!on day 2. Third pair from adifferent supplier, who had been having Quality issues with the boots and he stated this was the improved version by sherwood and all the problems were sorted told me he would immersion test the boots, which could only have only been a quick dip or because they had not been walked and the seals flexed apeared dry after the test. Boots arrived next day pulled out packing to try the boots on and the toe packing paper was Damp!

I informed the retailer who was totally gob smacked and disapointed and he asked me to test the boots out walking in wet grass water was entering the boots and wetting my feet in 5 minutes at 25 minutes the boots were squelching as so much water had entered the boots great for fully Waterproof Country Boots "Boots Not Fit For Purpose".
I then did the same walk in old Cabotswood Burford Boots and stood in the stream for 5 minutes and came home with DRY FEET.

emails sent to retailer and Sherwoods the retailer has been great and thanked me for detailed input and I am still awaiting any contact from Sherwood wiil keep you posted .

While People accept Rubbish they will get Rubbish so get out their and let suppliers know if their is a problem with a product and their claims are not TRUE directly.

I wore my Dublin Deluxe wellies daisy for 3 winters (and quite a lot of the "summer" lol) doing everything for 4 horses including walking through often ankle deep mud to fetch them in. Didn't have a problem until the 4th winter! must have been lucky I guess :)

I've had mine for approx 1 month & my feet are starting to get wet at the
toes - have to clean them parcel up & return to see if there is a fault with them. Really need them for across the fields in this weather.

Thanks for this thread; was going to buy some of these willies, but I won't now!

*sniggers* :D :D :D

And I must be the only person to have bought three pairs of decent boots from Dublin!

My jod boots have just started to leak after 7/8 years of abuse. They got the occasional monthly clean and nourish but that's about it. They were turned brown by having to wade through 2 ft of mud, hosed inside and out, bit of saddle soap and they looked like new... I still ride in them, they're just not 100% water tight any more!
My river boots stayed waterproof for two years, but I somehow ripped the lining in both yanking them off my feet, and the wear of my feet inside went through the waterproof lining. They're still good for general use though, and can handle light water soaking no trouble.
And I've only had my air stretch field boots 18 months, but they come up like new every time, completely water tight (with reasonable water levels!) and comfier than more expensive brands I have tried on.

Edited as just seen the date of the original post :o the bit up there ^^ still stands though
