Yep Ive got some and wouldnt buy another pair, they havent lasted long at all and my local tack shop has even stopped stocking them because of too many pairs coming back.
The lining in mine went within two weeks and soles wore out really quickly.
Im going for the Toggi ones next.
I have had some, liked them they were stylish and comfy but didn't last long. I wouldn't repurchase. Have a look at www.horsey.net, there is a review of another similar pair and a bit about the river boots.
I have had mine for 3 months and would so far disagree with the above.
Mine are still fine, the lining is fine, they keep my feet warm and dry!! However I only take them off using a boot pull so maybe this helps?
I have a pair of Dublin River boots which I brought at Burgley last year (2009). I have worn them everyday since, in snow, rain and sun! They are FAB, OK they are looking rather scuffed and dusty but they are great. Never let any water in and they always keep my feet warm. The linings are fine and to be honest they are the most comfortable boots that I have, they never rubbed me even when I wore they for the first time.
I would definately recommend them!
I'm on my 2nd pair in 5 months. Bought the first ones and the lining ripped after about 2 months. Contacted manufacturer, played hell and was told to contact the retailer I bought them from.
Retailer told me to send original pair back and gave me the second pair free of charge.
I have them too, on my second pair as the first pair leaked, one of the seams burst. This pair leaks too now after less than a year I think they went shabby quite quickly too. Certainly wouldn't buy another pair.
I have tried both sorts old and newof the Dublin River Boots the stripe boots are much better than the original style reinforced in the heel to stop the lining rubbing through in no time and still dubious waterproofness. I look after my boots and when the linings come loose or the soles start to come away or they leak i just take them back and politley demand another pair and get a new pair always keep your recipt!(Simples) only 1 pair so far has lasted more than 7 months. I use spray on silicone and Nic Wax to get them waterproof but wouldnt trust them like my Dubarries to keep my feet dry if worn in wet conditions, but i do find that they are warmer in this cold weather than my Dubbarries. Also the "fully waterproof inner lining"," Dublins wording" which" isn"t only extends to just above ankle height. Why carnt Dublin put in a full height branded waterproof membrane like Toggi Canyon Boots? which dont go in large enough sizes for me. So far I have returned 5 pairs, for leaking, soles parting from the upper, and the linings coming loose in the boots original style all of the above in 6 weeks on one pair it is so annoying as the BL***y boots are so warm and comfortable but just not up to the job . Dublin - Weather Beeta just dont seem intrested in really getting the boots sorted out so Forgive the Pun Vote with your Feet . I spent a lot of money on cheaper boots and it would have been cheaper just to Buy Dubbaries first. 3 pairs of welligog sloane boots sent back as all let water through the seems of the alleged waterproof membrane
I would get a new pair - but only the sort that have a vertical strip of leather in them. Yes after a few months use the lining tore, the insoles moved or fell out and they sagged around the leg, (but I am hard going on boots!) but they are warm and the leather and sole have stood up well. However can't wear them without lots of socks or fluffy liners to keep the legs up - any recommendations for similar boots for slimmer calves or ones that don't sag?
I got some for my birthday last week. Am having to take them back though because they are too wide for my legs. It's a shame because they fit my feet. They don't have anyway to tighten them around the tops of your legs though so you can't alter them.
