Went to Duckhurst BSJA (again, it's the only place that has show jumping on in the winter around here!).
After doing the 1m last time and ending up getting eliminated, I decided to do the 80cm and 90cm. We arrived just as they started the 70cm so we had plenty of time to get him ready and warm up. He went quite nicely in the warm up areana, doing his usual flyer over the oxer. They were running it as two phase (where if you go clear then you carry on to do the jump off). Managed to get him round without any stops so did the jump off, but I hadn't planned it so our turns weren't very tight. I ended up coming 9th out of 26 which I was pleased with especially as 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th were all 27.something. Atleast we still got a special rossette
We then went to do the 90cm which I put my number down to go 9th so went and got on him, got the warm up areana and my number was called
It turned out that no one else had put their number before me lol. I gave him a quick canter and popped him over the oxer and went straight in. He was jumping better, as in not spooking at the jumps, but got in deep to no.5 which we knocked down. I then forgot where no.8 was (it was right infront of me!) so I had to stop and ask quickly haha. Luckily Boomer jumped it from standing to 6 strides of canter, so I finished on 4 faults.
I was quite pleased considering it was only my 2nd BSJA and the standard of riding it so different. Also we didn't have 1 stop which really pleased me, it seems that almost a year of working through blood, sweat and tears (literally) has finally started to pay off.
