I am looking to buy a horse and have seen a few interesting horses on Duckhurst farm website. I was thinking of going to visit but have seen a few articles about drugging from last year. I have also seen some comments on here but the forums are a bit dated. Does anyone have any recent experience?

Join FB dodgy dealers page. Ask the same question. Sit back and watch your question fill with many comments. Please note that admin on this forum will not allow discussion about dealers.

Oh my days as already suggested join FB dodgy dealers and see what happens. That delightful trio and a lovely lady based in Yorkshire bring up more results on Google than Google itself :mad3:

I had a horrible experience there, Saw the website and wanted to have a look for myself so ignored warnings, spoke to the lady on the phone told me everything I wanted to hear, solid horses, good to hack, good to school, jumps not spooky good to clip shoe load etc etc, got there and the lady was busy so the groom took me to see the horses, asked her the exact same questions to see if I got the same answers, horse was no longer over 6 but just 5, he came clipped them didn't clip him (she said they did and he was not fazed) she said he had been there 3 weeks, on the phone he had been there 6 and they had don everything with him, should have started running away at that point but gave her the benefit if the doubt and when the owner came asked the same questions again but she kept changing the subject, watched the groom get on and ride first and horse was a bit babyish but looked ok but she I got on it bolted with me..... I got off and said this wasn't the right one for me so she pulled out another horse she thought was more suitable tried every trick to distract me from noticing the horse trying to bit them as they tacked up and when they took it in the school it tripped and looked lame, I said it didn't look sound and got kicked off their yard!

Everyone has different experiences, I would just be very careful you ensure you know what you are getting on before you sit on it

I have PM'd you :)

I have just bought from Duckhurst and am very happy with my experience. Horse came home 3 weeks ago and continues to be everything she was when I tried her.
Don't confuse Duckhurst Farm with the lot that were prosecuted, they are different people.
I know people have different experiences but I can only give a thumbs up. Having said that I went in with eyes open, asked a lot of questions and had a full 5 stage vetting.
