Duct tape 'twitch'?

I saw something on Facebook over the weekend about a duct tape 'twitch' that is supposed to have the same calming effect as an old fashioned one. There was no explanation, just a photo of one piece stuck down the middle of the nose from about noseband height and over the top lip. I think it stopped at the end of the top lip, so wasn't sticking the mouth shut but can't be sure due to the angle of the photo and I think maybe the lip was slightly wrinkled so the tape was pulling it up a bit, but again that could be the angle of the photo.

People on there were raving about it, saying they'd managed to clip ears for the first time ever etc, but I'm sceptical (as I am about everything!). I also can't decide if it's more/less painful for the horse than an old
fashioned twitch. I imagine while it's on it's better, but pulling it off must be horrible?

Anyone heard of it?

This old chestnut comes around every so often. It doesn't work of course (why would it) but it allows for a few laughs )

Has anyone identified which colour duct tape gets the best results yet...hehe ;-)

I'm pretty sure that it started as an April fools joke and gained it's own life from there!
