when's everyone elses 'babies' due?
 
One due on the 15th of may, one due on the 6th of June (both in foal to El Thuder - Brendons 3yr old stallion - Argentinus/Ladykiller lines). Last one is due around the 23rd of June and is in foal to Nederland F (had a Caretino Glory foal this year. The two mare's that are in foal to El Thuder are VERY different types - one being a 16.3 chestnut WB and the other a 15.3 coloured Welsh X so should be exciting to see the different types of foals they throw to the same stallion.

[/ QUOTE ]we visited the brendon stud some lovely stallions there such a choice i think they stand over 14 stallions there when we went there they had a lovely grey there Zutrillo but i didnt see him on the web recenlty also liked Darcobal~Fravanca in the flesh Shirley is really nice too on advice ect
 
They really have some lovely boys. I fell in love with El Thuder when I first saw him at their open day in March - he'd been in the country for 2 days and was a total gentleman. Was graded 2 days later and blew the judges away. Beautiful temperament too.
Zutrillo is lovely and I was tempted to use him on one of mine - I just didn't love his feet - very wide and flat. Some of their stallions have actually been sent off to other riders in Scotland I believe as they had too many and a couple (Que Nederland is one) have been sold to Europe.
Darco Ferrari is an amazing looking horse too...just way too big for my mare.
They've got a new grey colt over from Europe now too. Not graded yet so not standing at stud publicly but I saw him when I picked up my mare's and WOW is he nice.
Darcobal didn't really do anything for me I'm afraid. Fab jump but not really my cup of tea.
I agree Shirley is fab. My mare got kicked by another whilst there and shattered her hind splint. They were fab about it as had to have an operation, box rest, etc. as well as needing to be re-insemminated when she cycled round again.
Also, becaue they stand so many stallions now, their stud fees are incredibly reasonable when compared with the general market I think.
 
one due on due in April - LBD was May 22nd, but she was early with H, so I'm hoping she'll do ths same this time, but we all know that she could so eaily go over

event rider 23 o that explains why some arent there i was we went a friend and me i wasnt planning on putting any of mine in foal that year as they already had foals at foot but with such a lovely range of stallions and a real reasonable stud fee as you say i was very tempted we saw the grey colt he was gorg he had like white spots dapples on him though hes wasnt going to stand this year all very well behaved and look in fantstic condition i did like the lines of Zutrillo and Darcobal~Fravanca also not forgetting Fred LOL
 
my first foal due 1st april 08 , my mare 16.3 by calvados. stallion is freshman B from lockyers stud. very excited
 
Lovely PG and lovely choice of stallion, he is doing really well at the moment... will look forwards to seeing your 2008 baby! and all the others too...

We have 5 due for next year as sadly the 2 mares didnt take.

Elfinesque to Latimer (Trakehner) due May 12th
Catherston Orange Grove to samaii (ZfDP x BWBS) due May 10th
Dee Dee G to Showmaker (Westphalen x SHB) due June 4th
Holme Park Venezia to Ringo (KWPN x Trakehner) due May 20th
Cover Girl to Axis (Trakehner) due July 5th

I cant decide which cross I am more excited about. Ringo crosses so well on Trakehner mares so I know thats going to be fab. Dee Dee has produced 3 stunning foals and this has to be the best stallion we have bred her to yet - I do know that foal is going to be big!
Cover Girl's foal will have an increidble pedigree - if its a black filly its staying here! Knowing my luck it will be a grey colt.
Elf's foal is her first one so dont know what she produces yet, but Latimer 'should' be a really good match for her - lets hope so after the hundreds of stallions I went through making that decision. Orange is also a new mare for us, but I have seen a lot of photos of her previous foals and also based on her grading report, samaii would be a super cross for her.

a PBA to Bernwode Brokat
a Champion RP broodmare to Stanley Grange Cocksure
 
The Stanley Grange one is one of Jerome Harforths then I guess? Always turns out cracking show ponies from his yard, I nearly ended up working there. He's stood some fabulous stallions, I always remember one he had called Seaholme Cello - 15hh and a stunner, a friend used him and got a lovely foal. Long gone now though!

I spent ages and ages choosing the right stallion aswell.

I don't mean to be wishing the rest of this year away, but I can't wait to see the two new foalies next year!
 
only one due for 008, its due 31st may but the mare was really early last year shes in foal 2the spss stallion kantjes unicolour
