Im avoiding cereals for my horse but wondered if nuts either regular pony nuts or high fibre nuts come under the cereal/hard feed bracket as i believe they are basically grass pellets?

Grass nuts count as forage, but best bet is to check ingredients as some contain cereals.

If you are low cereal because of starches, be aware that nuts are usually bound with mollases

Thank you.
Yes i give him Hifi Lite as no molasses and unmolassed speedi beet currently.

Sorry i misread that! I didnt know nuts contained molasses so thats interesting and helpful!

Spillers High Fibre cubes are endorsed by the Laminitis Trust if that's any help.
One of their criteria for approval is:
"Inclusion of whole cereal grains, peas and beans is excluded with the exception of where they are cooked or used to facilitate pelleting and do not exceed 5% of the total feed"
