Im avoiding cereals for my horse but wondered if nuts either regular pony nuts or high fibre nuts come under the cereal/hard feed bracket as i believe they are basically grass pellets?
Spillers High Fibre cubes are endorsed by the Laminitis Trust if that's any help.
One of their criteria for approval is:
"Inclusion of whole cereal grains, peas and beans is excluded with the exception of where they are cooked or used to facilitate pelleting and do not exceed 5% of the total feed"
You need to read the list of ingredients. I was pretty shocked when I looked at one of my clients' feed bags to find peas, maize and barley in "Leisure Mix"
