The simple changes...on dressage diagrams it says the first simple change (across the diagonal) is through trot. The second one BXE it just says simple change.

Question is...is this again through trot or back to walk?

Nothing like leaving it to the last minute to learn your test

Thanks!

OMG i'm gonna need luck.

Cant do collected trot.

Simple change through trot is **cough** interesting

and Finn seems to think that going out on his own is currently as complete no-no so it should be great fun!

thanks though

If it actually says simple change it is through walk. At elementary this can be through trot down to walk (progressive) but must be direct up to canter (no trot strides). and show clear walk strides in between.

If it says a change through trot it is not a SIMPLE change, but simply canter trot a few strides (enough to show a few balanced and clear trot steps) and canter on the new lead.

So in E44 the one in the middle is just a change through trot and the one right at the end is a proper SIMPLE change.

Dont worry about the collected trot, you only have to show enough collection to be able to carry out the movements so for this test is is not much.

Good luck

According to the rule book - it says -

Simple change of the leg at canter. This is a change of leg where the horse is brought back immediately into walk and after approx one horses length is restarted immediately into a canter with the other leg leading. The walk steps should be clearly shown. A simple change is always through walk. If walk steps are not required the movement should be described as a "change of leg/lead through the trot and NOT as a simple change.....

Also doing this test today along with 52 as well, and there are loads of simple changes in 52, all on a four loop serpentine!!! HELP!

Thanks guys. I understand that change through trot and simple change are different It's just that I wanted to make absolutely sure the last one was a simple change and not just a wording error.

Thanks again
