Dumb question about saddlers!

Would a saddler do an alteration to a pair of leather riding boots?
I've just got a new pair and want them altered slightly, do I need a saddler (preferred!) or a shoe repairer?
Told you it was dumb!

It is not dumb.I would of thought a saddler or a cobbler could do the alterrations or a leather shop (people who make belts and handbags).

Not sure if a saddler could do it but I took my long leather boots to a shoe repair place and they did a really good job taking 2 inches off the top,they were zip at the back ones and you couldnt tell they had been altered.

Yes i know alot of saddlers that take boots, chaps etc for repair or to alter them. Depend on the saddler i suppose x
