Hi so im thinking about doing a bit of showing with my girl over summer have never done this before and was wanting some help regarding classes etc..

so the class i was looking to do is a british sports horse class, my girl does have a green sports horse society passport but it doesn't have her breeding in even though i do know this?? can we still enter these classes or do they require breeding in them?

i knwo might seem a silly question ive just not got a clue and hope someone on here more knowledgeable in showing than me might be able to help??

I've got my horse's passport overstamped by SHB(GB) so that I can show her in sports horse classes and I needed her breeding confirmed for that (her 3 generation pedigree in her passport was sufficient). However, that's a bit different to having an SHB(GB) passport already without breeding details....

Give them a ring in the office on 01732 866277 and I'm sure they will be able to confirm the position for you.

If you know your horses breeding, you should get the details added. if you have a covering certificate it is very easy to get the details added, if that is not available you can use dna samples (hair) plus copies of the parents pedigree's - if you have access to them.

Hi BIgred i dont have the covering certificate as the people who i bought the mare from own both the mare and stallion themselves and the stallion isnt registered anymore. once was apparently.. so no covering certificate... he is called OMAR DUTCH WARMBLOOD. think a few others have horses by same stallion n mare is just a plain tb..

i looked into getting samples from them and dna and was going to be £150 per test... do have access to them both so could do but was hoping to get away without having to..
