Dumb question

At what age do dogs reach sexual maturity? Our JRT pup (4 months) has been around our cats since we got him and so is very friendly with them. I thought he was trying to hump our big tom the other day, but thought better of it (I am being serious...) . However, a friend's bitch (NOT in season) arrived today to stay for a week and he won't get off her!

Obviously she;s put him in his place, but it got me thinking about having him 'done', and wondered when was best to have his nads sorted out??

Mainly my poor Midget!

OUr old dog scared himself to death at the age of about 12 weeks when his winky came out to play for the first time... he ran and hid under one of the chairs, screaming at the trouser snake that had suddenly appeared to kill him!

I got my puppy last week and he humps his teddy only 8 weeks old!

God, I am so lucky.....although while he doesn't hump, B does have a wonky willy, which he especially likes to show off at opportune moments like mealtimes and kiddies visiting.....
