Hi

Now the spring grass is coming through, I want to split my horse's field. The livery owner has put in sufficient plastic sticks to split the field in half, and a single row of electric tape across the top of the sticks. I have to supply my own battery.

Do I need an energiser too and if so, what exactly does it do please?

In addition, electricity needs to run in a circuit to have any power, so surely a single row of tape across the top of the plastic sticks won't do the job unless there is some clever farming trick to this I'm not aware of?

Thank you for any help :D

I have a battery and an energizer, the energizer hooks to the battery and hooks into a metal stake in the ground, then there is a hook from the energizer that hooks onto the electric tape. it has to flow in a circut or it wont work. simples

Oh and I have 2 rows of tape, and a cut off bit that is tied to the top and bottom row so they're both electrified

Yep you need an energizer to connect the battery to. You can electric just one strand, it doesn't need to be a circuit.
You can pick them up on ebay quote reasonably.
