Dutch branding

Is there anywhere to look at Dutch brand marks to find out more about which stud a horse came from?

The brand itself might not tell you which stud your horse came from (unless it is a zangersheide or something), rather it will tell you which breed society the horse is graded/registered with.

What is the brand you are looking at? Does the horse have a prefix or suffix? That might give more of a clue.

ETA - the passport should tell you

Just saw the brand on the horse no other details at the moment and haven't yet seen his passport.

If I remember rightly, a sort of mercedes badge mark?

Friend has just described it as a circle with either an X or H inside it

Could be a hessen, or a holstein. I will find a picture.
